Flags for Our Heroes: Honoring Veterans at Windy Hill
Let's Cover Windy Hill with Flags for Our Veterans!
On November 11th at 11 a.m., join us as we come together to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. We need your help to fill Windy Hill with flags to show our gratitude! Each flag will have a special note attached, sharing a message of thanks.
You can get a flag for $3 or two flags for $5. Your participation will help us create a beautiful display of appreciation for our veterans.

First Day of School
Mark your calendars!
The first day of school for students in 1st through 5th grade is Monday, August 28th!
Arrival: 9:15 a.m.
Dismissal: 4:10 p.m.
Pre-K and Kindergarten students will have a staggered start on 8/30 & 8/31. You will receive communication from your child’s teacher for the start date for your student.
Peek at Your Seat
Please join us on Friday, August 25th for an opportunity to check out your new classroom, meet your teachers, school staff, and PTO. Please follow the times listed below:
10-11:30 a.m.
10-10:30 Students New to WHES
10:30-10:45 grade 5
10:45-11 grade 4
11-11:15 grade 3
11:15-11:30 grade 2
11:30-11:45 grade 1
Pre-K and Kindergarten families will have an opportunity to peek at your child's seat during their initial conference, scheduled for August 28th and 29th. Look for an invitation from your child's teacher during the week of August 21st.

Family Fun Night at Windy Hill Elementary June 14th 5:30-7
Don’t miss a chance to watch your child in action with their school friends! We invite all Windy Hill Elementary Families to get together and celebrate a great year together.

Windy Hill Elementary PTO Mumraiser 2021
Purchase a 9 Inch Mum from Greenstreet Gardens & Support the Students at Windy Hill Elementary PTO! All mums are $10 each.
All orders must be accompanied by payment (Paypal, Venmo, and Checks are accepted. Checks can be made out to Windy Hill Elementary PTO). A drop box will be provided at the school for those who choose to pay by check. Orders must be received by Saturday September 25. Mums will be available for pick-up at WHES on Saturday October 9 from 9am-11am. For questions, please contact windyhillwizardspto@gmail.com

Reminder from From Mrs. Frederick, School Counselor: Windy Hill Elementary is sponsoring a virtual Giving Tree. We are reaching out to our school community to provide a happy holiday to our students in need. Please click on the “Sign-Up-Genius” link below to see the items listed and help us give a smile and joy this season. There is a number and letter assigned to each item. Please tape this identification to the gift. To deliver the gift, please call Sara Frederick, School Counselor, at 443.550.9871 to make an appointment. If your child is attending school, he/she can bring it to the front office. All gifts are to be unwrapped and delivered by December 10, 2020. You may also mail in monetary donations making checks payable to WHES (address: 9550 Boyds Turn Road, Owings, MD 20736).
